Mechanical Presses
The press represents a specific type of machine tool, essential in the performance of industrial manufacturing processes. Presses deliver energy through a force that acts over a distance or stroke. One important application is in metal forging manufacture. The energy of the press is used to close the die, forging the part within. Press machine tools apply force/energy to the work differently than drop hammers, (that deliver energy to the work through a collision), hammers are the other class of machine tools used to forge metal parts.

Welding Machines
MIG welding with shielding gas and a solid wire electrode produces a clean, slag-free weld. This comes without the need to stop welding to replace the electrode, as in Stick welding. Increased productivity and reduced clean up are just two of the benefits possible with this process. In MIG process generally Argon, Helium, or their mixture are used for shielding the molten weld pool whereas in CO2 welding process, carbon dioxide is used as the shielding gas. CO2 being an active gas, this process is there fore known as MAG process.
